Can you confirm if the camping is from friday night?

Thanks,

Joe

Rob H- 07-07-2007
Camping from 4pm Friday.

Joe90- 07-09-2007
Thanks.

Book me in for Friday night camping. This is a big thing as it will be my eldest sons first night in a tent [he has just turned 6] and he is currently camping on his bedroom floor. So hopefully it will be OK and after the event I can get him back in his bed. I'll probably set up with his younger brother around 6 clock and then swap them over as Jacob has a school [local to little Baddow] disco until 7. What a great time they have.

Any advice would be appreciated from the old hands at this camping game.

Thanks,

Joe

Advice mmm. Well I would say ....DONT DO IT...book into a nice little hotel, where you can use a proper toilet, wash, keep dry, and sleep well. Let him sleep on his bedroom floor, he'll soon get bored.

If you decide to camp anyway then I suggest wellies and lots of layers, even in the summer it can get chilly in the evenings and at night. Goodies for a feast and plenty of liquid esstentials for grown ups blink.gif You wont need an alarm clock if you camp anywhere near us thats for sure.
Joe, it really is good in all honesty. The evening social side is great but dont tell the others I said so.

Thanks Jan - Jacob has slept on the floor for a week and is really keen. His brother gave up ages ago but he is only 3 so he has an excuse.

If we fail to make it through the night we only live down the road so if all else fails we can go home. Hopefully though he will be OK. We have all the gear as I spend lots of time up mountains so we should be alright.

What grown up drinks does everyone like? - as it's my first time I should bring some refreshments for the neighbours.

According to Jacob we will be walking down to papermill lock in the morning as they do a really good cup of tea and chocolate cake - I guess Dad will be carrying him back again as it is a couple of miles each way.

Not camping Saturday/Sunday as Jacob is meeting friends at Brands Hatch for the Formula 3. I can't keep up with them!!

Joe, generally we only take refreshments for ourselves, unless someone runs out then we visit the neighbours.

Martin Hinch- 07-10-2007
Please book me in for the RTV.

I've not managed to get a "camping permit from SWMBO".I am suposed to be fitting a new kitchen.

Hope you guys have fun under canvas.

Look out for the large "killer ants", and don't worry about the bears in the woods. They only come out when they are really hungry.

Regards Martin
