We have had to move to Mid Essex

The annual Shakedown will be at the Mid Essex site this year for club members and road legal vehicles. No CCV (unless fully taxed and -*test*-('")ed) due to a change in the permits sad.gif

Membership forms will be available at signing in for those that need one, or for your membership renewals.

Signing on from 10.00am, and the site will close at 16:00
No need for pre-booking - just turn up and play.

There will be some sections set for practising trial driving and an opportunity for those wishing to put into practise the winch training.

Rob will be sorting out marshals so offers of help to Rob by mail, rob@visualr.co.uk or text 07922 153836.

See you all there biggrin.gif

Truly Scrumptious catering will on site for hot drinks and snacks.

To those who've been before the arrangements won't come as a surprise, but for those Shakedown virgins, here's the details / rules:

+ The gates will open about 10.00, and we would like the site to be clear by 16:00.
+ Entry is £20 per vehicle, but ALL drivers MUST be signed on, and be club members.
+ You can drive whatever you want, as long as it is road legal and achieves basic safety requirements - if you have any doubt, contact one of the scrutineers before Christmas.
+ There will be marshals on site (clearly identifiable!) and you have to do what they ask in terms of your driving, otherwise you will be asked to leave the site.
+ There is a nominal speed limit of 10mph on site at all times
+ Enjoy the day.

Marshals - We always need marshalls - if you want to be a marshal, please book in directly with Rob Hunt BEFORE christmas, and not via the forum. Remember, you are there to work as a marshal, not to get a free day's driving.Marshals should be on site from 9.30

Everybody else - when you are on site, be aware of where others are driving, and the fact there will be lots of pedestrians, particularly little people - this is a family event.

Have a good Christmas, and see you at the Shakedown.

How encompassing is that description?

Tim

You are welcome to come along but you have to be a club member. You can join on the day for the next year if you want to.

Tim.

Yes. The four letter word you drive is allowed.

You could even try in a Smart car if you wanted to...! (although we would prefer somehing with 4 wheel drive).

The 2 contraints are that 1) it must be road legal, and 2) driven by a club member.

See you there.

Yes it was agood day, I really enjoyed it even though I was non stop all day with recoveries. ( I love it really biggrin.gif )

It was busy getting everyone in but signing in and scrutineering has to be done even with 2 scrutineers.

You should have had a tea and breakfsst bun from the snack van while you were waiting gromit, lovely smile.gif

A whole year to the next one sad.gif

Kevin,

I heard that you were the one who needed "serious" recovery. biggrin.gif

Sadly I wasn't there to photograph your misfortune as I left at about 1 o'clock, but there are plenty of photos of others on the BosunCam website.

Just updated with photos from yesterday at Mid Essex for the Shakedown, earlier in the month for the Day into Night and way back to November for Laning in the King's Forest.

Sorry for the delay in updating my photo site but it has been a very busy time. Anyway, hope you all enjoy them.

Ralph, great photos. Interesting one of our Comp Sec pretending to work under the bonnet of his land rover. blink.gif
Kings forest ones look really good.
Be nice to go up there again real soon. ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif

It wasn't a really serious recovery but I wasn't going anywhere without the use of two winches rolleyes.gif and without the tree to rest on I may have had a sliiiiiiiiiide sideways down the hill ohmy.gif

As usual I heard laughter and saw loads of camera flashes laugh.gif
