ELRC club winch event

We are planning to hold a club winch event later in the year, this will be open to all club members who have a winch fitted to their vehicle.

It is NOT a 'challenge' event and can be entered by anyone with experience or not. It is an opportunity for club members to be able to use their winch in various situations set out on one of our sites. Any vehicle can enter and there should be two vehicles to a team but only one needs a winch fitted. A minimum of 3 teams will be needed to make the event worthwhile arranging. This will be a TYRO for winch vehicles.

Prior to the event a winch training day can be arranged where you can be confident in using your winch carefully and safely using the right equipment at the right time.

Yes, hand winches can be used I'll stick to my electric one though

It's an opportunity for club members to become more familiar with using winches wether they be hand winches, hi-lifts or 'proper'ones.

Just make sure to eat 3 shredded wheat and bring a case of red bull

Joe you are welcome to come along as a participant as you might be able to be a crew member. Not sure what format it will take as w have to get enough people to enter to make it worthwhile.

We have run winch training sessions before and if one comes up I'll let you know asap.

In the meantime I'll add you to the list so we can hopefully get this winch event up and running.

No date fixed yet, it will be discussed at the committee meeting Sat 15th.

Once I have confirmed names on the list and there is enough we can get a date booked in. Possibly training sat and event sun over one weekend.
