I'm sure I said I would be clerk for the CCV.

Brenda, and Trevor will be driving the 80

keith steward- 11-27-2007
Book me in for the CCV please. Is it really only 1 pair of lights?

Kevin 4x4dj- 11-28-2007
Keith, I'm not sure about CCV. I guess an old hand CCV driver will be along to advise shortly.

TYRO and RTV can only have one extra pair, additional to head lights.

James_Hartley- 11-28-2007
The rule is one "additional pair", so if you are a CCV you can use 4 lights, as the first 2 count as your normal headlights.

James_Hartley- 11-28-2007
Can you stick Barry Kay down for the CCV (in my 80)

Karl Reilly- 11-28-2007
The ruling for lighting we have used is that all lights must be forward facing (that includes pointing off to the side, so long as it is generally ahead of the vehicle), and all must be mounted below the top of the bulkhead.

Road legal vehicles have their head lights and one extra set, CCVs have up to 4 single lights.

There is no limitation on their size... (other than perhaps the power of you alternator).

Fire Extinguisher Servicing

We have arranged for Steve from Eastern Fire Extinguishers to be at the Day into Night Trial at Mid Essex. He will be servicing fire extinguishers for a very moderate cash price of £2.50.

The plan is that he will be there during the tea time break.

It is a good idea to get your extinguishers serviced regularly – you never know when you will need it! The AFFF ones that most of us have are the foam type and in order to work correctly the nozzle must spin freely, sometimes they get bunged up with grot from just sitting in the cab.

He is also happy to service your extinguishers from home – so round them up and bring them along. I think it’s worth £2.50 to know it will work when you want it!

Sue - Fire Extinguisher Servicing - what time is 'tea time' roughly and how long into the night do you expect to trial?

Thanks,

Joe

James_Hartley- 12-03-2007
In the past we have stopped for tea as it gets dark - I guess by 4pm, the trials usually finish by 7.30pm or 8.

Sue- 12-04-2007
Hi Joe

Steve the fire extinguisher man is planning to get there at about 3.30.

Hope to see you there

Sue
