Does anybody know, will a discovery series 1 gearbox fit onto a 3.9 range rover engine?

I think so, provided the bellhousing and output shaft are the correct length. i.e if the Discovery 1 was a V8 then it should fit straight in. If it was a Tdi, I think it might have the wrong bellhousing and output shaft.
