All,
We will be helping the County Council and District Rights of Way to clear a couple of overgrown byways in the Rochford area on Saturday 27th October 2007 from 10 am until around 3 or 4 pm. Your help would be very much appreciated for some or all of this time.
If you can spare some time and put something back into the community to help open up this route for all users then please let me know, either on the forum here, or via e-mail/phone. My details are in Exploits.
We will be clearing scrub etc so all that is required is loppers, secateurs, bow saws, pruning saws etc. Please remember to wear appropriate clothing especially gloves and boots. There will also be some heaps of rubble and soil to move so spades may be useful. There will be no use of power tools.
Children are welcome but must be supervised by their parent/guardian at all times. You must be 14 or over to actually help out as this is a requiremnet of the insurance I'm afraid.
For details of where we will meet please contact me ASAP. I hope many of you will be able to make it and open up this route. We will be joined on the day by some of the Parish Council and some of our fellow users (Horse Riders).
This is a good opportunity to get some good PR for the Club and our Green Laning activities.
I look forward to seeing you there.
regards
Ralph

Hi Ralph, sorry we have not responded earlier to your call for workers on the 27th for lane clearance ,but our social calender is SO full we don't know how we have the time to be retired!!!!!!!! We shall be there (directions please ) I shall bring my NEW 22" petrol chainsaw (only kidding) and Mega.Thankfully she is able to do more than point, now that her wrist is healing. She is incidentally running a 10k Cancer research run at Hatfield on Sunday to celebrate her 60th birthday SO if any body turns up at the lane clearance day with loads of spare shange Mega Margaret will be only too happy to relieve you of it.
