Dear Club Sec.
Home Counties Land Rover Club invites you to this years Navigation event to be held over the August bank holiday weekend (28th to 30th august 2004) This years navigation event only takes place on one day (Sunday ) with a driving day for those that wish on the Monday( although this may change to a trial on the Monday if enough interest is shown) with camping from early Saturday.
The site for camping and the driving day and base for the nav event is close to Great Dunnmow in Essex with good links close by to the M11 and A120.
the format for the nav event will be to navigate around a set route using 6 figure grid reference's, tulips, Ariel photos and some treasure hunt type clues. The route will take in an offroad site, tarmac roads and suitable Byways (i.e. firm and hard surface's only)and should not exceed 100 miles. the nav event will be suitable for all Solihull products (although as with all offroad events some damage could occur) crews for this event are of 2 i.e. driver and co-driver but if there are seats in the vehicle for more, then this is more than acceptable, (for full regs please E-mail at teamss@lineone.net ) This years event is sponsored by Candols of Ongar, a local Land Rover specialist who have put up a £100 voucher to be spent in their parts department for the winning crew. Vulture Trading, (suppliers of winches and offroad accessories) are putting up a prize for Spirit of the Event and if enough interest there will be a prize for Best Team (Team consists of 2 crews with their scores added together) sponsored by Pelham Leisure (offroad training). Trophies will also be presented to these crews.
Although this is a camping weekend if anyone wishes to just attend the nav event or even just the driving day then this is fine. The site will have toilets of the tardis type and water should hopefully be available.
Cost as yet has still to be finalized but anyone that's interested we will let you know ASAP however it will be pre-book only for the nav event
Many thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you .
For more details, regs or better still an entry form then please get in touch.
