Map + GPS day

Unfortunately so far not many people have expressed an interest in this event it really was fun last time, but I do need to know who's up for it before I can arrange anything with Paul and Ralph!

I've got a map [s] and a GPS

which I use when walking usually in the Lakes or North Wales. Could always do with a refresh so happy to support. Compass work would be helpful but not sure whether this would be covered.

The date is yet to be arranged. Once we have an idea of suitable numbers we will sort out something suitable to all.

And...yes it will cover compass work. Theory and practical, weather permitting!

Arrive from 9:30 for a 10:00am Start

at Homestead Caravan Centre, Weeley near Clacton.

Please e-mail Brian Stacey to let him know you are coming. (Brian's details are in Exploits under Rover Rescue).

Now that this is nearly upon us can it be confirmed if it is still on; how long will we be 'lost'; and what do we need to find our way home?

I can confirm that the mapping day is still on.

The plan is to have the theory in the morning and some practical stuff in the afternoon.

You might like to bring some lunch with you or you can use the on site cafe.

You can stay for as much of the day as you like, but I suspect we will finish around 4.00.

If you have a compass and or GPS you might like to bring them with you.

Well pitched and good level of knowledge - I think everyone learnt something.

Apologies for not staying the distance and I hope everyone found their way home.

For info only - I get my [waterproof] maps from Aqua3.com but I am sure there are many places to get OS maps.
