I must admit to being slightly amazed that members of a Land Rover Club, are actually complaining about driving their land rovers?? If this was any other car club members would be enthusiastic about taking their vehicles out for a good drive!
I don't mind driving further than I would for a normal trial, primarily as it is not a normal monthly event.
I don't think we should be too concerned that we have to look elsewhere for a site that provides all of the events that the Easter interclub is about.
The whole point about the event is that it is not a normal weekend trial - it has enough events that we are not all tied up all of the weekend - there are opportunities for members to see disciplines that they don't usually see, and competitors to drive against competition that they don't usually have. It is also a great platform to encourage new members.
Holding it slightly further away may well benefit the club by generating entries from those outside our normal catchment area. if they have a good time they may well be prepared to travel further to go to our event the following year. Where else can you go in the south of england for such a comprehensive list of events at Easter? In terms of events alone, we actually have more than Eckington which brings in people from all over the country. If we don't have an Easter event in 2006, we will seriously damage all the work that we have done in building the event over the last few years.
Argh! Stupid software keeps logging me out!!!
The above post was me btw. Sorry.
