the old dog- 05-25-2005
biggrin.gif Went to Suffolk Sunday, laning. Plenty of support from members,. The weather was good, but quite a long way to go I thought. But proved well worth it in the end. The lanes in The King's Forest were completely different to the Essex lanes that we have seen so far. I was surprised at how long they were, and well away from people and traffic. We split into groups and we were wondering how every one else got on. We of course didn't get lost as our team leader is an old hand (Squiddley Didley Ralph)....Wat say You BFG....

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Yes indeed,a good days laning, the first we have been able to make with the club although we did go at Christmas with Brian Stacey and Paul Hull.It was good to see the contrast between Winter and Spring. Also good to see and meet new members attending for the first time. Yes it is along trip but where in Essex would we find such a contrast, and all available ,without hassle?Well done yet again the Coulsons!!!! B.F.G biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

The lanes around Kings Forest are really good, and in nice condition. Unfortunately the council have recently issued a Temporary Closure Order on a section of the routes until 25/8/05 due to damage and forest clearance. sad.gif
Barnham Byway 7, Culford Byways 15 & 16 and Wordwell Byways 5 & 6 are affected. That's a big chunk near Wordwell Barn/Culford Lodge just off the A134.
Due to work and club commitments I've not been over there since October but I'm promising myself another ride out really soon along with another Peddars run.
