We're looking for a very cheap caravan.
(Well I am, Pete would sleep out on the grass, but I need a bit of comfort at my age). When I say cheap I really mean cheap. No more than about £200, shabby chic is this year's must have. No leaks though!
Any idea's ??? Let me know... rolleyes.gif

Just as I buy a 'proper' tent you go soft and want a caravan smile.gif.

Joe, if I threw all our stuff into the air and it popped into life then I'd be a happy bunny. Our porta loo tent is bigger than what you and the boys sleep in.
When you're as old as me you'll understand. biggrin.gif

true but hence the purchase of massive circus size tent.....oh and I considered you to be much [well a bit anyway] younger than me.

Hi Jan,

The place where my Dad used to keep his Caravan often sells them off. I will get you the number. My Dad has bought a few from him for £50.

Cheers Jim

Hi Jan,

It's Stan Earle. The number is 01708 221103. The vans he sells are ones that have been left in his storage facility (field) and I guess the owners have stopped paying for some time. It is in Upminster so not to far from you.

You never know you might get lucky.

Good luck

Jim

smile.gif Mmmm let us know if he has anything and we might be interested for next years camping events. Needs to be a bit more comfortable than a shed on wheels though rolleyes.gif

Whatever it is, it will be warmer than sleeping under a cloth with no bed ohmy.gif

For Easter 2008 we will be in a log fired, farmhouse bed and breakfast (hopefully with a BIG breakfast) smile.gif

How about a nice cheap trailer tent!!

the old dog- 10-30-2007
Trev,
Lovely as it sounds with the trailer tent. I was kinda hoping for something with curtains that dont get creased and need ironing every time we put it up or down. Much as I love ironing.
Seriously, we would like a caravan, but the girls would think we'd had them over with only half a caravan But thanks for thinking of us.

One of my IT clients is Montpeliers Farm (Writtle, where they had the *cough* hot air balloon festival...). The other day i had to wait for them to show up at the lodge and had a wander round. I spotted several old(ish) caravans stored. Not great shape, but might be up your street.

Do you want me to ask if any of them might be for sale?

Failing that, my parents have 'a man' who works on their caravan (up near Dunmow?). I can get them to ask him if he knows of a cheapo caravan.

the old dog- 10-31-2007
Ta for that. Got a few leads now to follow up. As soon as we get a minute to go get a caravan then I may be in touch. smile.gif Jan.
