Winch Challenge event

I was looking at the national website, and found that the winch event does not clash with the RTV, CCV, or Comp. It is on the Sunday after the CCV ends. Aparently there are places left - Cliff, Trevor and I are going to have a go - is anyone else interested in making another team?

It is felt that interest in the Winch Challenge within ALRC clubs has declined over the last few years , due to the restrictions put on modifications to vehicles.

in 2008 we are looking towards making it a more interesting event for both competitors and spectators, with the event being held within the Deer Park for ease of spectator access.

It will be a 2 vehicle / up to 3 person event, using one nominated winch, with the second vehicle being available as an anchor point. The course will include both self recovery of the vehicle, plus moving an object around the course.

And be warned ........it will not necessarily be the fas-*test*-('") winch that wins - it could all be down to planning and tactics!
